The Bay Mầu coconut forest preserves a water‑coconut ecosystem where generations of villagers practiced small‑scale fishing and basket‑boat transport. During wartime it also served as a guerrilla hideout, so today’s tourist basket‑boat shows overlay older stories of resistance and rural subsistence.
